Marisa Sandera, MD

A native Texan, Dr. Marisa Sandera graduated summa cum laude from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX. She went on to receive her doctor of medicine degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. After that, Dr. Sandera completed her internal medicine internship and residency at Texas A&M’s Scott & White Clinic in Temple, TX, where she was appointed chief resident in internal medicine. After completing her fellowship training in medical oncology at Scott & White, she joined the START Center for Cancer Care’s team of caring, dedicated specialists.

Dr. Sandera sees patients at both the Boerne and Sonterra locations. She sees all tumor types (as well as cases of benign hematology) with special interest in breast cancer, gastrointestinal malignancies, and genitourinary malignancies, such as renal cell and prostate cancer. The Boerne clinic is a full-service office that offers chemotherapy, radiation, as well as office visits for those who do not wish to travel into San Antonio. Dr. Sandera sees new and returning patients at both office locations.
