Joe E. Johnston, MD

Dr. Joe Johnston earned his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He completed Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio and Residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Morristown. Dr. Johnston completed his Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio.
Dr. Johnston is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and maintains a faculty appointment at The University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery. As a member of the Board of Directors of The Methodist Healthcare Ministries and as a former Chief of Staff for Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, Dr. Johnston is actively engaged at all levels of the Methodist Healthcare System.
As a member of The Start Center Surgical Consultants, his professional interests include General Surgery, Abdominal Wall Reconstruction and Oncologic Surgery with a special focus in Breast and Gastric Cancer.
Dr. Johnston currently sees patients at the Stone Oak and Boerne locations.
