
Matthew Carpenter, M.D.
Dr. Matthew Carpenter is board certified in Radiation Oncology and practices at the START Center. He received his MD from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1987. He completed residency in Internal Medicine at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 1990, and fellowship in Rheumatology at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in 1993. Dr. Carpenter graduated from Radiation Oncology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2005. While there, he was recognized with the Basic Science Research Award in Biology from the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology. After 22 years of active duty service, Dr. Carpenter retired from the Air Force in May, 2009.
Dr. Carpenter is experienced in all aspects of Radiation Oncology, particularly Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Stereotactic Radiosurgery with the Cyberknife. His interests include cancers of the breast, central nervous system, lung, genitourinary system, gastrointestinal tract, and head and neck.
