Health Information Data Management Analyst (Full-Time)

General Description: The Health Information Data Management Analyst is responsible for the implementation of and continued maintenance of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Education & Qualifications
The Health Information Data Management Analyst should have the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Strong people-skills and the ability to interact and work effectively with physicians, nurses and other staff members.
  • Must have good administrative, organizational, written, and verbal skills.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) policies and procedures for maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Relevant experience in a health care environment is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system including users, system upgrades, handling software issues, etc.
  • Develop, write, and maintain policies and procedures.
  • Organize EMR meetings with physicians, directors, and other key personnel.
  • Provide training and continued education to clinical, clerical, and professional staff regarding use of the EMR.
  • Perform acceptance testing on EMR software before it is used clinically.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Registered Nurse (Full-Time)

We are current recruiting for a Staff Registered Nurse that will be expected to provide outstanding patient care coordination, physician support and skilled nursing assessment/evaluation. Also assist in coordinating the physician’s schedule to include patient care, administrative time and meetings.

  • Ensure collection of all information necessary for patient assessment at scheduled clinic visits.
  • Conduct skilled nursing assessments that evaluate physical and emotional status of patients and coordinates appropriate care and follow-up.
  • Assists physician with time management to provide timely quality care and follow up.
  • Provide clinical data to ensure proper authorizations are obtained to assure accurate billing and reimbursement.
  • Educate patient and family on disease process and address their individual needs and concerns.
  • Familiarity with EMR is preferred.

Must have the following: Current RN license issued by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners and Oncology or Acute Care experience preferred.

Surgical Coder (Full-Time)

Responsible for determining appropriate codes for medical services and surgical procedures to ensure accurate adjudication of claims.

The Certified Coders will be responsible for assigning ICD-9 diagnosis and procedure codes for the purpose of reimbursement, regulations and research. The qualified applicant will possess excellent data entry skills and the ability to work in many computer applications simultaneously.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews operative notes and various forms and medical records to identify proper coding of claims. Requires CPC (Certified Professional Coder) with designation from an accredited source such as American Academy of Professional Coders.

Experience:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
  • Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology
  • A good understanding of the disease process
  • Good decision making skills
  • Must have an excellent work ethic and be pleasant
  • Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT codes, and insurance carriers claim requirements

Skills:

  • Must have strong organizational, strong oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Review operative reports and other clinical documentation to accurately assign ICD-9/CPT codes
  • A sound knowledge of medical coding rules and regulations including compliance and reimbursement
  • A minimum of one year of surgical coding experience

Collections Manager (Full-Time)

Duties and Responsibilites

Resolution-Restitution

  • Ensures payments are posted according to contracts on assigned accounts.
  • Audits and reviews on a sample basis payments received from payors and ensure payments are per contract.
  • Reviews and analysis that payors are paying STOH any and all interest on claims as afforded by our contract and/or SB 418.
  • Reviews and analysis reports from various products such as “RemitDATA” to timely and accurately address any underpayment as well as charge master defects.
  • Develops, utilized and maintains tracking reports and work flow sheets for each payer/collector.

Appeals

  • Review and analysis denials received by payors.
  • Develops/disseminates and manages denial tracking reports to each collector
  • Reviews and instructs collectors on corrections and how to re-submit denials for all assigned payors.
  • Works with clinical staff to develop clinical policy book for STOH by payor for Chemotherapy payment guidelines.

Education:

  • Educates reimbursement staff on contracts and billing guidelines to develop the employee’s knowledge and understanding of contracts and billing guidelines.
  • Re-educates staff on how to read their contract for maximum payment up to and including interest
  • Educates/Inservice new employees to working accounts to maximize efficiency, payments and interest.
